1. Introduction
Welcome to Bellabooks ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website at shopbellabooks.com ("Service"), operated by Bellabooks.
Our Privacy Policy also governs your use of our Service and explains how we collect, safeguard, and disclose information resulting from your use of our web pages. Together, these documents form the "Agreements" between you and Bellabooks.
By accessing or using our Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service and contact us at support@shopbellabooks.com.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who wish to access or use the Service. Users under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service or make purchases.
2. Communications
By using our Service, you may receive newsletters, marketing, or promotional materials from us. We will only send marketing communications where you have explicitly opted in to receive them, in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us at support@shopbellabooks.com. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of communications sent prior to withdrawal.
3. Purchases
Bellabooks accepts payments in multiple currencies, including but not limited to Nigerian Naira (₦), United States Dollars (USD), British Pounds (GBP), Ghanaian Cedis (GHS), and other currencies supported by our payment processors. The currency displayed at checkout will reflect your location, where available. Payments are processed through Paystack, Stripe, and other approved third-party payment processors. By submitting payment information, you grant us the right to share that information with our payment processors, subject to our Privacy Policy. Bellabooks is not responsible for any currency conversion fees or foreign transaction charges applied by your bank or card provider.
You represent and warrant that: (i) you have the legal right to use any payment method provided; and (ii) all information you supply is true, correct, and complete.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order under the following specific circumstances:
The product is out of stock or unavailable
There is an error in the product description or pricing
The order contains inaccurate or incomplete information
Suspected fraud, unauthorised, or illegal transaction
Technical errors affecting order processing
In the event of a cancelled order for which payment has been received, a full refund will be issued within 7 business days via the original payment method.
If a payment fails during processing, your order will not be confirmed. You will be notified and given the opportunity to retry with a valid payment method.
4. Delivery
Bellabooks delivers across Nigeria and internationally. Estimated delivery timelines are as follows:
Lagos (within city): 1-3 business days
Other states within Nigeria: 3-7 business days
Remote or interstate locations: 5-10 business days
International delivery (including UK, US, Ghana and other countries): 10-14 working days
These are estimated timelines and are not guaranteed. Bellabooks will not be liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to logistics provider delays, natural disasters, public holidays, or force majeure events (see Section 15).
We will not be responsible for failed deliveries due to the recipient being unavailable at the provided shipping address, incorrect address details supplied by the customer, or refusal to accept delivery. Refunds will not be issued in such cases.
5. Refunds & Exchanges
Bellabooks does not issue refunds except under the following specific circumstances:
The wrong item was delivered
The item arrived visibly damaged
The ordered item is out of stock and cannot be sourced
To be eligible for an exchange or refund, you must notify us within 3 days of receiving your order by emailing support@shopbellabooks.com with your order number and photographic evidence of the issue. We reserve the right to assess the claim and determine eligibility. Where approved, Bellabooks will cover return shipping costs.
The following are explicitly non-refundable and non-returnable:
Books purchased during clearance or sale events
Reserved or stockpiled books (non-transferable and non-exchangeable)
Book accessories such as bookmarks and stationery
Orders with failed delivery due to the recipient's unavailability or incorrect address
6. Content
All content on or accessed through this Service — including text, images, logos, product descriptions, and graphics — is the property of Bellabooks or is used with permission. You may not distribute, modify, transmit, repost, copy, or use any content, whether in whole or in part, for commercial or personal gain without express written permission from Bellabooks.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Bellabooks and its licensors. Our trademarks, logos, and brand identity may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.
The Service is protected under Nigerian copyright law, trademark law, and applicable international intellectual property law.
8. Prohibited Uses
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
Violate any applicable Nigerian or international law or regulation
Exploit, harm, or attempt to harm minors in any way
Transmit unsolicited advertising, spam, or chain letters
Impersonate Bellabooks, its employees, or any other person or entity
Infringe upon the rights of others or engage in harmful or fraudulent conduct
Use automated tools (bots, spiders) to scrape or monitor the Service without consent
Introduce malware, viruses, or any malicious code
Attempt unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, or connected databases
Launch denial-of-service attacks against the Service
Falsify or manipulate Company ratings or reviews
10. Data Protection & NDPR Compliance
Bellabooks is committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
We collect and process your personal data only for lawful purposes, including order fulfilment, customer service, and (where you have consented) marketing communications. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent for marketing at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@shopbellabooks.com.

11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, Bellabooks’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.
Bellabooks shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Service.
These limitations apply regardless of the legal theory of liability (contract, tort, or otherwise) and even if Bellabooks has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
12. Disclaimer of Warranty
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Bellabooks does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. Nothing in this section affects any rights you may have under mandatory Nigerian consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by contract.
13. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute, complaint, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or any purchase, you agree to first contact Bellabooks at support@shopbellabooks.com to seek a resolution informally. We will endeavour to resolve your complaint within 14 business days of receiving it.
If a resolution cannot be reached informally, the dispute shall be submitted to mediation or arbitration in accordance with Nigerian law before either party initiates formal legal proceedings.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from a Nigerian court where necessary to prevent irreparable harm.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes not resolved through the process in Section 13 shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
15. Force Majeure
Bellabooks shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, flooding, fire, earthquake, pandemic, civil unrest, government action, power outages, logistics provider failures, or internet or platform disruptions.
We will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable of any such event and will resume performance as soon as the circumstances allow.
16. Links to Third-Party Websites
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services not owned or controlled by Bellabooks. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. We strongly advise you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
17. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.
All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall do so, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.
18. Changes to Service & Terms
We reserve the right to modify or withdraw the Service, or amend these Terms, at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
19. Error Reporting & Feedback
You may provide feedback, error reports, or suggestions directly to support@shopbellabooks.com. By submitting feedback, you acknowledge that: (i) Bellabooks is under no obligation of confidentiality with respect to the feedback; and (ii) Bellabooks may use feedback freely without any obligation to you.
